Coach Doppelganger (she/her), or just Dopp, started skating in 2012 with the Coal Miners’ Daughters in Gillette, WY—yes, the NPR-featured team. She quickly moved to the Powder River Rousta Bout It Betties, then was…

drafted to her first WFTDA team, A*Salt Creek Roller Girls. Since then, she’s skated with over eight teams across the West and eventually became head of training and captain of Midnight Terror with Wasatch Roller Derby. She’s also played for Uinta Madness and supported Junction City when she could.
Dopp has been officiating as long as she’s been playing and started coaching with the Wasatch Junior Rollers in 2022, stepping in as head coach in 2024. She helped develop three skaters who made Junior Team USA in 2023, led the team to its largest point game ever (611 points), and oversaw the league’s biggest tryout and enrollment to date.
Dopp’s coaching style is all about building the complete athlete. She believes every skater brings something powerful to the team—it’s just a matter of identifying that strength and sharpening it. Dopp emphasizes teamwork, mental focus, and strategic thinking just as much as physical fitness. Her approach is holistic: from nutrition and off-skates workouts to rest and recovery, Dopp helps skaters grow into smart, strong, resilient players
Off the track, she teaches 7th grade Language Arts and enjoys working out or sneaking in video games with her twin sister (she’s the older twin—by one hour).

Blocker Coach & Minion Coach
Coach Skates (they/them) rolled into the derby world in 2018, starting with Happy Valley’s juniors before making the move to Wasatch Junior Rollers in 2019. They’ve been on the rise ever since, joining Wasatch ASalt in 2022…

captaining BSalty in 2023, and then graduating to A*Salt in 2024. These days, they skate with Midnight Terror for Wasatch and crossover with Uinta. From newbie to captain, Coach Skates has been all in on derby, proving just how much dedication and heart they bring to the sport!
As a blocker coach, Coach Skates loves taking it back to the basics. Everyone skates differently, so they’re all about helping skaters find their unique groove while building their skills. They keep practices fresh with a mix of drills, techniques, and scrimmages, making sure that every skater gets the chance to improve and learn new tricks. Their favorite thing to teach? How to get low and use that power to stop jammers in their tracks. Blocker magic, if you will!
Coach Skates has had a hand in some big wins, like coaching Uinta Madness at Monsoon Madness, and helping Midnight Terror go from the 50s to the top 20 in rankings after a huge performance at Malice in the Mountains. Talk about a game changer!
When they’re not on skates, Coach Skates is hitting the books at SLCC, working their way toward becoming a physical therapist. But it’s not all about studying and skating—they also love getting crafty with crocheting, painting, and any DIY project they can get their hands on. Oh, and if you ever need a gaming buddy, they’re all about The Sims, Minecraft, and Stardew Valley

Whamdalf’s passion for officiating led him to become the Head NSO (Non-Skating Official) for Junction City Roller Derby, where he has thrived in organizing and overseeing events. Working alongside his spouse, Kiss Off, the Head SO (Skating Official), Whamdalf has helped put together numerous games, including home team games, travel games, and tournaments. He’s officiated nearly 100 games to date and has taken on major roles, including Tournament Head NSO for the Bonneville Beat Down.
After watching his youngest child, Rumblebee, join Wasatch Junior Rollers, Whamdalf was inspired to help foster the growth of junior skaters. As a Minions coach, he enjoys teaching the foundational skills of roller derby and emphasizes a growth mindset, reminding skaters that struggles are part of the learning process. His coaching style is grounded in patience, understanding, and encouraging skaters to see challenges as opportunities for growth. Whamdalf is dedicated to creating a supportive environment where all skaters can flourish, recognizing that each learner has their own path to success.
Outside of derby, Whamdalf enjoys playing board games and video games with friends, particularly Dungeons and Dragons. He has aspirations to write a comic book and even has plans to create a roller derby-themed board game in the future.
